Mike Tonn"I am so grateful to the Full Curl Society for making this hunt possible. It was as everyone had said; the most difficult hunt I have ever been on. The terrain was remarkable but definitely made me work for the final trophy. I could not have prepared for the hunt physically without having been there. The first trip I went on had given me a lot to think about before going on the following two trips to the Escalante. The rewards of this hunt were immeasurable. Not only was I able to obtain the great credit of hunting the four North American Wild Sheep, I was also able to feel like I had done something I was strained by and struggled with. I am honored that I have been given the opportunity to go on such a hunt. I never imagined I would have had a chance to hunt and harvest a desert sheep. I am pleased with all of the aspects of this experience and highly recommend the Bronson family to any hunter planning a trip to Utah for whatever their choice of species may be. My experience desert sheep hunting was a once in a lifetime and I will be forever grateful to those that made it happen."

Don Peay and Rob Keck"Fellow Sportsmen, my Dall sheep hunt won at the Full Curl Society meeting two years ago turned out to be the BEST hunting experience of my life – to date.  I have hunted and trapped extensively throughout North America, but now I know why sheep hunting is so special, having experienced it first hand this past August.  Full Curl Society is a noble idea, and the people behind it have  a tremendous track record for conservation of wildlife throughout North America, and are avid hunters that make things happen.  Perhaps most importantly, it is very obvious the donors and members of the Full Curl Society really care about the success of their fellow sportsmen, and want to see each of us fulfill our sheep hunting dreams."

Jeremy Bergen"On a Saturday in late October, my wife Eleanor and I made it back from British Columbia after an absolutely great trip. I was lucky enough to get my ram! It was a great hunt we saw 11 rams in 4.5 days, and I decided to take this 11-year-old broomed ram on day 4. I can't begin to thank the Full Curl Society and everyone involved in the organization. This was an experience that I will never forget.  I'm now at the 3/4-Curl status. and in the past 19 years of guiding and hunting I didn't  think I would have the chance to reach that goal.  Thank you!

Jay MajhanovichJay Majhanovich – Prophet Muskwa Outfitters. 3/4-Curl Status

I just returned from the Stone Sheep hunt that I received at the Full Curl Society banquet last February.  The hunt exceeded even my highest expectations.  Not only did I get an excellent Ram, but was treated like a king.  The Outfitter that they chose for this hunt, Kevin Olmstead's Prophet Muskwa, was as good as they get.  Kevin and everyone involved in his operation are outstanding and would come highly recommended by this lucky hunter.  I would like to thank Don Peay and The Full Curl Society for making it all possible, without you my dream hunt for a Stone, would still be just that.  Thanks to Kevin, Sean, Brandi, and all the others at the lodge that welcomed me so graciously and treated me so well.  Garry, Icee, and Ed in camp were all excellent, tough, and professional.  I would like to issue a special Thank You to all of the donors to The Full Curl Society that have given so graciously over the last few years to make these dreams come true for us lucky few. Thanks again to all."

Max BradleyMax Bradley – Ghana River Outfitters. 1/2-Curl Status "After many years of applying for an Escalante Desert sheep tag I finally drew in 2005.  Following fifteen days of hard hunting I was able to harvest my Desert Sheep and from then on I was hooked. Knowing that I would never be able to afford to hunt Dall or Stone Sheep I thought that was the end to my sheep hunting.  Thankfully, due to the Full Curl Society and many very generous donors I was wrong.  After winning a Dall Sheep tag at the Full Curl banquet in Salt Lake City I was able to go on a once in a lifetime hunt with Gana River Outfitters.  In addition to an awesome experience, this brought me to 1/2 Curl status and one step closer to completing my Full Curl.  I am excited to do anything I can to support the Full Curl Society whose sights are set on putting more sheep on the mountain and giving more opportunities for the average hunter to be able to experience what I have during these sheep hunts.  I hope each and every member gets the opportunity to go on a once in a lifetime Sheep hunt as well."  — Max Bradley

Last year I was fortunate enough to go on a Stone Sheep hunt with Jarrett Deuling and Deuling Stone Outfitters thanks to FNAWS. This was a raffle hunt I had won at the annual Utah FNAWS banquet. It was the first sheep hunt I had been on but my dad, having been on several, had prepped me on what to expect. We had rain every day and snow twice. Luckily, one of the days we were rained into camp (with nothing better to do than play with the spotting scope) we spotted a band of 10 rams; one appeared to be a pretty good ram. The following day, the weather having cleared some but not much, we elected to try one other area we hadn’t hiked yet, before giving chase. That day turned up empty so we set out the following morning for the group of rams we’d spotted two days prior. Six hours later, through some of the worst bushwhacking and climbing I’d ever had on a hunt, and topped off by a shooting distance of 420 yards we were standing over my ram. After about a two-hour, much appreciated, break in the weather we were loaded up and headed back to camp in a hard, steady rain. It was an awesome hunt in some beautiful country that, without FNAWS, I wouldn't have had a chance to experience.

Marty AndersonMarty Anderson – Gundahoo River Outfitters. 1/2-Curl Status
Idaho

I was fortunate to win a Stone Sheep hunting adventure with Gundahoo River Outfitters the day after I joined the Full Curl Society. I previously harvested my Rocky Mountain Bighorn in 2004 in my home state of Idaho. Holding his horns on the side of the mountain, I came to know what sheep fever was all about. One of my friends from SFW-Idaho, Jeff Blain, had talked to me about his Stone Sheep hunt, and I dreamed of someday going after one. However, prices seemed to skyrocket just as fast as my interest in sheep hunting grew. Like many hunters faced with the long odds of raffles and hunting draws, I wasn’t sure if my next sheep hunt would ever come. I am very grateful to the Full Curl Society for this opportunity. I was amazed to see other hunters donate expensive dream hunts back to give others like me the opportunity to harvest a ram and work toward the Full Curl. I would like to say thanks to the Full Curl Society and its leadership and donors that had't he vision to make this possible and also to the outfitters like Art and Crystal Thompson who helped to make my dreams come true. My hunt was everything I imagined it would be - and then some, as Art graciously pointed out. On top of my 40” ram, I also took a record book moose and a trophy mountain goat. What a hunt!

Rick Ellison’sRick Ellison’s is a rally cool story. Rick had taken a Bighorn sheep in Wyoming, and his son Spencer took a Desert sheep in Utah last year. At the Utah FNAWS fundraiser, Bruce Engleby drew his own name for a Dall sheep hunt. Bruce, in the ultimate act of sportsmanship, would not accept the hunt. He then drew Rick’s name, and Rick took this great ram with Arctic Red River Outfitters. Spencer also took a Dall sheep on this hunt with his dad, and we now have an additional father-son team at the ½-Curl mark.

Kevin won this hunt at a previous Expo and is now in love with sheep hunting. Kevin’s uncle Carl Albrecht (below left) drew the Desert tag at last year’s Expo and took a nice Desert ram. The Albrecht family is typical of many western states deer and elk hunters. They have worked hard, donated lots of time and money to help conservation with SFW. They always wanted to be sheep hunters, and now the Full Curl Society is a clear path to help them and thousands of other hunters to achieve their sheep hunting dreams.
