Full Curl Society

Sheep Hunters Speak Up

Here is what a few dedicated sheep hunters have to say about the Full Curl™ Society.

Dr. Scott Allan - Full Curl™
Idaho

Scott AllanFor young hunters and wild sheep conservation, the Full Curl™ Society is an exciting new idea. Our family has been deeply involved in Wild Sheep conservation activities – my father served on the Utah Wildlife Board, my Brother Clark is on the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission, and I served as president of SFW Idaho. We are a family of sheep hunters. Dad and I have finished the Full Curl™, Clark is excited to help military veterans get a sheep hunt each year, and two of my sons have hunted sheep. We are excited to contribute and participate in the Full Curl™ Society.

Pat Juhl - Full Curl™
Oregon

Pat JuhlClear back in 1997, Don Peay and Lee Howard – via Utah FNAWS – started doing the first ever drawings and auctions for people who needed just one more sheep to complete taking all four North American Wild Sheep – the Full Curl™. I was at the 3/4-Curl™ status, just needing my Desert bighorn permit. I was lucky enough to draw the special 3/4-Curl™ drawing permit, and took this nice Utah Desert Ram and it finished my dream of completing the Full Curl™. As Chairman of the Mule Deer Foundation Board of Directors, I am excited to see the Full Curl™ Society step forward and keep the dream alive for the deer hunters, and elk hunters and turkey hunters to also have the special opportunity to complete the Full Curl™ of sheep hunting. The Western Hunting & Conservation Expo is the perfect venue to bring all hunters together, and that means sheep hunters too!

Jeff Rogers - 1/2 Curl™
Nevada & Utah

Jeff RogersI work as a fireman in Las Vegas, Nevada. I guess the idea of taking all four sheep in my lifetime was only a dream. Then, I drew a desert bighorn permit and became one of the sheep fanatics. I didn’t realize until after hunting sheep, just how special sheep hunting and sheep hunters are. I have made many lifetime friends. And then two years later, I won the Dall sheep hunt and I am now a 1/2-Curl™ sheep hunter, hoping to fulfill the dream of being a Full Curl™ sheep hunter. The Full Curl™ Society idea is a tremendous one, and I look forward to donating my time and money. Thanks for thinking of us “young guys” and planning to address the challenges of sheep and sheep hunters in the future.

Corey Offret - 1/2 Curl™
Utah

Corey OffretI'm so glad to see sheep hunters’ opportunities continue to grow through the commi™ent of the Full Curl™ Society and its members. Its mission to help fulfill the hunting dreams of others will certainly be opening new doors to provide them the chance of pursuing one of the most remarkable animals on earth. I am honored to belong to an organization that thrives on building memories such as mine. I look forward to obtaining the Full Curl™ status and helping out in anyway I can. For years, Utah FNAWS members have enjoyed the Full Curl™ concepts, and now it will be embraced by sheep hunters across North America.

Billy Dunbar - Full Curl™
Alaska

Billy DunbarI have purchased several governors’ tags, been on over 40 sheep hunts, and have been involved in conservation activities for 25 years. I have serious concerns about the lack of young hunters joining the sheep hunting ranks. I really like the efforts of the Full Curl™ Society to make hunting available to younger sheep hunters, and hunters who have worked hard their whole lives and are just a sheep short of fulfilling their sheep dreams. I like to hunt elk, deer, and other species, and I know Sportsmen for Fish & Wildlife gets it done for all species and all hunters. I will be an annual supporter of the Full Curl™ Society.

Jeff Jones - Full Curl™
The Jones Family of Sheep Hunters

Jeff JonesI have taken two Full Curls™, my brother has taken three Full Curls™. My son, son in law, and nephew are all 3/4-Curl™ hunters, with plans to complete the Full Curl™ soon. That will be five Full Curl™ hunters in our family. We are now starting to think about our grandchildren and their sheep hunting futures. I can tell you from the last 20 years of experience, the Don Peay and Karl Malone lead team will yield great results for wild sheep, wildlife and hunters. We will be gladly participating as sponsors in the Full Curl™ Society. The Full Curl™ Society is a big idea for current and future generations of sheep hunters.

Marc Bingham - Full Curl™
Alaska, Arizona & Utah

Marc BinghamWhen I donated $4 million to Sportsmen for Fish & Wildlife, I did it because they get tremendous results for wildlife conservation and sportsmen. SFW has done tremendous things for habitat conservation, increasing game herds, providing quality hunting programs, and predator management throughout the western United States and Alaska. I enjoy hunting all species, but sheep hunting is my favorite. I have been on 25 different sheep hunts around the world. As a businessman, I know you must always be looking to the future. Sheep hunters and wild sheep face an uncertain future. The Full Curl™ Society will provide a lot of new excitement for wild sheep conservation and sheep hunters. I will be contributing annually to the effort.

Mike Fisher - 1/2 Curl™
Utah

Mike FisherWorking at Sportsmen’s Warehouse isn’t the ticket to a sheep hunter’s life. But we all have our dreams. I have been to a few events where some of the sheep hunters seem to want to be in a league of their own, excluding most of us hard working hunters. That is why I am so excited to see the Full Curl™ Society expand to a North American effort. I got lucky and drew a desert sheep permit. Then, I won a reduced price Dall sheep hunt, in a way similar to the future hunts offered at the Full Curl™ Society meetings. I took this tremendous Dall sheep with Arctic Red River Outfitters in 2008, it was the hunt of a lifetime. The Full Curl™ Society will be a great place for sheep hunters from around the country to come together and share in the work and the bounty of sheep hunting and sheep conservation.
