About the Full Curl™ Society
The objective of the Full Curl™ Society is to bring all sheep hunters together to focus on wild sheep conservation and help fellow Society members achieve their sheep hunting dreams. Over the years some major issues have developed that threaten the future of wild sheep hunting. In addition to the biological and land use issues, internal litigation within our hunting community has wasted millions of dollars in precious conservation funds, and tarnished the sheep hunting world. Additionally, the escalating costs of wild sheep hunting has diminished, if not destroyed, the lofty dreams of many who would like to take all four North American Wild Sheep – the Full Curl™. If wild sheep hunting becomes only accessible for a handful of super wealthy, most likely, just like the Polar Bear hunt, sheep hunting will be banned as well.
The Full Curl™ Society will attract generous hunters who are interested in helping fellow hunters achieve their 1st Full Curl™. Each year, Full Curl™ Society members will contribute to help cover a portion of the cost of sheep hunts for fellow sheep hunters who are progressing to completing their 1st Full Curl™.
Annually, several sheep hunts will be awarded in drawings to Full Curl™ Society members who attend the annual meeting. Additionally each year, a few sheep hunts will be awarded to individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary efforts and dedication to wild sheep conservation.
Associate Membership
Associate members of the Full Curl™ Society will be those who are in good standing, and have taken at least one North American Wild Sheep. The annual dues for an associate member will be $40.
Full Membership
At the Annual Full Curl™ Society meeting sheep hunters who have taken all four species of North American Sheep, have contributed to wildlife conservation, and have shown a willingness to help fellow sheep hunters achieve their dreams will be recognized and inducted as full members of the Full Curl™ Society. The annual dues for a full membership in the Full Curl™ Society is $100.
Hall of Fame
Each year, five sheep hunters who have exhibited exceptional efforts for conservation, have completed the Full Curl™, and have helped fellow sheep hunters achieve their hunting dreams, will be inducted into the Full Curl™ Society Hall of Fame.
Why the Full Curl™ Society?
While the funds provided by governors’ permit buyers are greatly appreciated and are vital to sheep conservation, the consistent year in and year out work by thousands of hard working volunteers and working class sheep hunters goes under appreciated, and unrewarded. Many hard working hunters draw a sheep tag in a state draw for a reasonable price and fall in love with hunting wild sheep, only to find it nearly impossible to afford future sheep hunts. Without the strong support of the average income hunters, sheep conservation and sheep hunting faces a bleak future.
Who will manage the Full Curl™ Society?
There will be NO administrative fees or salaries paid in the Full Curl™ Society. There will be one annual magazine documenting the conservation and sheep hunting accomplishments by Full Curl™ Society members. Don Peay, as a volunteer, will coordinate all the Full Curl™ Society efforts. Karl Malone has stepped up with a $200,000 donation to get the ball rolling, so to speak. Don and Karl will work to obtain funds to fulfill the mission of the Full Curl™ Society.
Who determines who will receive hunts each year and status in the Full Curl™ Society?
The affairs of the Full Curl™ Society shall be managed by a board of advisors currently consisting of: Karl Malone, Louisiana; Don Peay, Utah; Billy Dunbar, Alaska; Marc Bingham, Arizona/Alaska; and, Merlynn Jones, Utah.
